The dance team began in October 2014 and provided its first performance at Neon Boots Dancehall & Saloon’s Country Christmas 2014 event. In addition to local events, the team has performed in Washington D.C., San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

Discover Your Inner Maverick
- Become a member of the Foundation for a few months and learn what is involved in the Foundation’s support of the Mavericks Dance Team. Volunteer to assist at learning events in which the Foundation or Foundation members are involved.
- Be actively involved in demonstrating your line dance and country western couple dance skills, dance with members of the Foundation, and learn what is required of the team members’ skills, schedule, commitment, and responsibilities. Be a dance angel during Line Dance Lessons at Neon Boots Dancehall & Saloon, and role model and call steps to help newbies learn the dances you enjoy doing.
Unleash Your Mavericks Spirit
If you decide you want to audition for the dance team, be fully immersed in the two areas listed above. Then move on to the next steps.
- Observe dance team practice for 4-6 weeks. Compare your skills to members and determine if the idea of being on the team based on practices is what you expected. Being part of the dance team requires sacrifice of time, continual learning and improving dance skills and level, and patience. The dance team is not a professional team in which members are paid, but the commitment to providing quality numbers is similar. Plan on giving 100% (and then some).
- If you decide that you have the skills and dance level required of members on the dance team, and you are a Mavericks Dance Foundation member in good standing, submit an application to audition during the next audition window. Continue dancing and demonstrating your skill level for line dancing and country western couple dancing. It bears saying again: Keep Dancing!
